To Breaking Bad fans siphon coffee may look like some kind of meth-making kit. You’ve got a double beaker set up where water from the bottom is sucked up via vacuum pressure through coffee grounds, and then filters back through to the bottom vessel once cooler. Add some neon lights, perhaps an open pilot light and siphon coffee fits perfectly into ‘Heisenberg’s” lab equipment.


But siphon coffee is not some kind of crazy experiment, rather a 17th century brewing technique that has re-emerged as a popular drink in specialty cafes around the world.
